the red canary: the story of the first genetically engineered animal (tim birkhead) - a sad and tragic historical account of little red birds.

the tao of equus (linda kohanov) - i didnt really like this book so much, but the author has a great theory of centaurs originating from the eurasian nomadic pot smoking scythians.
